TS: AC Milan to push for winger signing in scheduled meeting
AC Milan will negotiate the signing of Spanish winger Marco Asensio in a scheduled meeting with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio took advantage of the weekend of freedom granted by coach Carlo Ancelotti to treat himself and his girlfriend Sandra Garal to a few days of vacation in Milan. This obviously did not go unnoticed and mercato rumors increased about the possible transfer of Asensio to AC Milan.
Paolo Maldini is a great admirer of the 26-year-old. Marco Asensio is a flexible player who can be deployed in a number of positions in attack. The Spaniard would be ideal for Stefano Pioli’s squad because he plays as winger on both flanks as well as second striker or attacking midfielder.
Tuttosport reports that AC Milan will go into detail on Asensio’s situation in an upcoming meeting they have scheduled with Real Madrid. The two clubs will discuss about the future of Brahim Diaz soon but Maldini will take advantage of the meeting to understand Real Madrid’s economic demands for Asensio.
The contract of the right winger with Real Madrid runs down in 2023. The current market value of Marco Asensio is €40 million but it’s unlikely any club will offer that figure for a player that becomes a free agent in one year. He will be available for significantly lees. Real Madrid are open to negotiate his sale at the end of the season.
Carlo Ancelotti has preferred Rodrygo in recent matches but Asensio remains a key player for his squad. The Spanish winger has scored 10 goals and one assists in 33 appearances with Real Madrid so far.
